When should you see a doctor?
A few simple signs that mean it's worth booking a consultation — and the ones that can wait.
Most of us put off the doctor's visit until things get bad. But a few warning signs are worth acting on early: a fever that won't break after a couple of days, pain that keeps you up at night, unexplained weight loss, or a cough that drags on for weeks. None of these are panic moments — they're 'book an appointment this week' moments.
The same goes for ongoing issues you've been managing on your own: blood pressure, blood sugar, or a medication that doesn't feel right anymore. Bringing it to a GP early is cheaper and easier than dealing with the complication later.
Not sure whether you need to come in? Call the practice at 076 757 2331 and ask. A quick conversation sorts out whether it's urgent, can wait, or just needs a chat.
